Living in a community requires self-initiative. Living in times of a paradigm shift requires radical responsibility.

Basic guidelines for human interaction
 
  • Do to others what you want them to do to you, and don’t do what you don’t want them to do to you.
  • Take responsibility for creating what you need and want.
  • Interpret what happens as a reflection of you - and use it to deal with your personal ‘buttons’.
  • Resolve any issues you may have with someone right away.
  • Prevent escalation of issues by talking WITH people you have issues with, not ABOUT them. Prompt people, who confide in you to do the same. Remember that criticism often says more about the person criticising than about the person criticised (3 fingers pointing back). When we have done something wrong towards someone, we tend to criticise and leave. Healing happens when we make up for it. When we have intentions that are not aligned with our stated purpose (hidden agenda), we tend to criticise and come closer. Healing happens when we openly explore if it’s appropriate to fulfill them within the relationship/organization.
  • Legal matters need to be resolved by appropriate legal structures.
Creating and maintaining a new culture
 

Creating and maintaining a culture of the new paradigm doesn’t come by itself. It takes continuous effort and willingness to embrace ourselves and each other when we fall back in the ways of the old paradigm, sometimes not once, but several times in a day.

  • Creating the habit of using a new terminology is an important part.
  • Focus on finding balance between self-care, community-care and social life in the community is essential. It affects the individual as well as the community negatively, no matter which one is sacrificed.
  • Ability to relate to where people are and change hats/roles and allow others to change hats/roles has to be developed.
  • Weekly sharing circles hold space for each person to share what is alive in them.
  • Various courses, practices and methods hold space for personal and spiritual development, improving communication and preventing conflicts to develop.
  • Prioritizing to resolve conflicts immediately maintains harmony.
  • Organizing various community events contributes to ‘community glue’.
Supporting each other in the process is necessary. We are all humans.
